Important Notes

  • Applicants must possess undergraduate-level or higher knowledge in economics, finance, accounting, or social sciences.
→ Refer to the Academic Knowledge Examples below.
  • Articles must be written in a journalistic, not academic or report-style format.
(Guide to Writing A Press Release)
  • AI-generated articles (fully written by LLMs) are not eligible for review.

While AI models are capable of producing text, the stylistic and logical gap between human and LLM writing remains large. Since our organization’s core products are already AI-based, we can easily generate articles internally — however, they differ significantly in structure, tone, and reasoning compared to human writing. Therefore, we are specifically hiring human contributors.

You may use LLMs during drafting, but the final output must include human revision — this is our editorial philosophy.

Academic Knowledge Examples

Economics:
Amid claims of intensified competition in the convenience store industry, the HHI (Herfindahl–Hirschman Index) based on store counts increased, while the HHI based on sales revenue decreased. If we calculate the HHI change using only the difference in sales between last year and this year, can we predict the direction of change compared to the previous year? Based on this, discuss whether real competition has intensified or if excessive, unsustainable store expansion is taking place.

Explain the current market structure using the framework of Cournot vs. Bertrand competition and discuss which form of competition is likely to prevail in the future given the characteristics of the convenience store market.

Finance:
Explain the difference between EV/EBITDA and P/E ratios, and why EV/E or P/EBITDA are not commonly used. Under what conditions can EV/EBITDA and P/E converge to similar values? Which industries are most likely to exhibit this pattern?

Accounting:
If depreciation decreases by 10, identify the affected items and amounts across the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement (assuming a 20% marginal tax rate). If a company increases its depreciation expense this year by changing its accounting policy, explain the most plausible internal motives and circumstances.

International Relations:
One may argue that the news article Smuggling Is the Latest Temptation for Wealthy US Travelers may be intentional by the Swiss government in response to the Trump administration's 39% tariff on Swiss goods. From the perspective of 'Realism vs. Liberalism', how do you interpret the claim?

Sociology:
In Nepal and Indonesia, large-scale street protests recently led to changes in political leadership.
Observers attribute this to the rapid diffusion of information via social media platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. Traditional sociology once used a per capita GNI threshold of $10,000 as the benchmark for “democratization readiness.” Should this threshold be reconsidered? Unlike Korea and Taiwan in the 1980s, what alternative social mechanisms—beyond SNS—may have contributed to democratization in these countries?

These are sample questions that major LLM services can already answer correctly. Because our work routinely applies academic reasoning to real-world issues, we seek candidates capable of demonstrating logical sophistication exceeding that of LLMs.
